Alba Ceti

Finally finished the work and paint job on the boat and it's ready for an outing. That's probably going to have to be next Monday as the weekend is already accounted for.  The paint is the recommended outdoor Valspar for wood/metal applications. The go-faster stripes in the area of the front seat is blue/black/red which is the club colours in a chevron to the other side of the boat.  That was all done with three automotive aerosol cans that I already had spare.  The dog is an optional extra.

I think that there may be another couple of mods necessary. I've already lowered the seat position by about an inch. The recommended position was about two inches, but that was with the seats dangling on its fitting bolts and only spaced out with bamboo spacers on the bolts. It didn't look very secure. I'll need to find something a bit more sturdy to drop the seats downwards while still feeling secure. Although I'm normaly a kneeler I might have to lower both seats another couple of inches when two up, or put in a kneeling thwart. But I'll wait until I see how it performs as it is at the moment, before I start on all that.

All that remains is to give it a name. The usual and fairly obvious options occurred, such as Titanic, (which depends on how many holes its got), Pequod, Boaty Mcboatface, Orca, (it would have to be black and white for that), and Moby Dick. Eventually, with a flash of inspiration by Mrs D, we've settled on 'AlbaCeti'... Seems quite apt. So that's it about ready until Monday.
