One Owner, Certified Mileage

February's contribution to the 500 mile campaign ended with a bit of a whimper. Hampered by the weather to only four outings during the month I ended up doing only 24 miles in total, and thereby accumulated a deficit of 22 miles on the required 84. It's not very good but I have my excuses ready, what with weather an' all, but at least I believe I can make that up fairly readily in the coming months.

I had my logbook returned by the club last week and found that I have been awarded the BCU Silver annual mileage award, which is a rather neat certificate and a silver pin to reward a mileage of over 250 miles. That's quite pleasing in itself, the only thing is that apparently the BCU have run out of the silver pins, so I've got to make do with the certificate... Which is nice.

The irony is that having failed to get the two star proficiency award as 'not being up to two star standard' at the start of last year, I'm probably one of the club's furthest travelled, but least proficient paddlers. Never mind... onward to the gold.
