Pushing the Envelope

Well, it seems that I have made an entry to the London Marathon.

I'd clicked on a link sent to me by a The Soldiers Charity requesting me to run for them. They're the ones that organise the Military Tattoo in London which I went to last year. What the Hell thought I and banged in the details for the ballot. The page closed and chucked me out, and no one had asked for a credit card. I thought I hadn't completed it right as there was no confirming e/m either, so I forgot about it. But... I've just found the e/m in the Spam folder. Apparently they'll let me know the good/bad news in October.

I suppose it suits my purpose to do a a bit of training for it as the jogging is doing the stomach and back muscles some good and helps to keep me upright in the boat longer. I'm also just hovering on the cusp of 14 stone, so I've got rid of almost half stone in a month. Not particularly good, but OK. It's just as well that I went for a jog today. It was really hot but I managed to cover about 1.5 miles non stop. Slow, but non stop.  It felt a bit better this time too.  About 2.5 all in

I haven't been back to the improvers Sunday group, I'm not sure if they have enough peeps wanting to go out at the moment. I have another plan and I almost had Mrs D down to the river to try out the Laance by myself. Anyway, holiday looms next week so I'll have to put that on the back burner for the moment.

Looking at some dates:
D - W                    29 March
London Marathon 21 April

Depending on whether I get picked for th LM or not, there's the Marathon on Land, the D - W on Water, all I need now is a parachute jump in May and I've got my own version of the Triathalon.  :-)
